How to make roller blinds with your own hands

The task of manufacturing a roller blind is not very difficult, nevertheless it will require attention and accuracy.

First you need to measure the window frame, which they will need to overlap. To the width of the cloth obtained for each frame, it will be necessary to add 3-4 cm for allowances on both sides, to the height - the same 3-4 cm for allowances plus another 10-15 cm. From the fabric we cut two panels of the right size for each of sash - one for the front, the second for the wrong side.

For work, you will also need a wooden block or a metal tube, the width corresponding to the width of the blind, or a finished cassette system purchased at the store, a decorative cord or ribbons (their length should equal the double length of the curtains plus another 30 cm).

For work you will need:

• screwdriver

• screws

We sew the cut fabric, leave the side side not sewn up, turn it off, we cut the pocket along the bottom of the curtain, so that it can be placed in the weighting rail, sew the remaining segment of the seam.

Iron the curtain sheet, use a stapler to attach it to the bar or wrap the tube with it and fix the fabric.

Throw the garters over the mounting block and fix with threads or a stapler. Next, the bar is attached to the window frame, its upper part can be decorated. If instead of fastening with a stapler, hooks or zippers are used, then the curtain panel can be changed if desired.

If the curtain will be attached to metal-plastic frames, then it will have to be fastened using double-sided tape, it is better to use a wooden lath as a weighting agent.

Having prepared several sets of roller blinds with your own hands, you can very quickly change the appearance of the room - depending on the events that will be held in it or just like that - in accordance with your mood.
