Floor-mounted toilet bowl
At the moment, the market of building materials and sanitary ware offers a large assortment of toilets of various models and manufacturers. But for a long time flush toilets have been especially popular. Their design is the most traditional and reliable for all families. The floor flush toilet includes a porcelain bowl, which is installed on the floor and flush system. It can be different: suspended, inextricable with a toilet bowl and hidden.
The main advantage of the attached toilet is the quality removal of its contents. Another advantage is the equipment of the drain tank with an additional flush button. When it is pressed, the drain tank is only half empty (economical flushing option).
This type of toilet is convenient in operation, takes up little space and does not require high qualifications for installation. A floor-mounted toilet can be easily mounted independently without involving a master.
Flush toilet with concealed cistern
Currently, especially underfloor toilets with a hidden cistern are especially popular among Russian residents. These models are a great addition to any design solution for your bathroom. The drain tank of such models is hidden in the wall and covered with plaster. Only a button for flushing water is visible on the wall. There are a wide variety of buttons on the plumbing market.
An attached toilet with a hidden cistern is available in the form of an oval bowl (less often a square one) without a flushing cistern. Its functions are performed by a plastic case, which is mounted on a wall. It is installed thanks to the mounting system and is attached to the porcelain bowl of the attached toilet. A button is displayed on the wall surface to control flushing. Thanks to this, the toilet looks more elegant and takes up less space. A flush toilet with a hidden cistern is the best option for apartments with small areas. They help to cope with the lack of living space and save space for additional plumbing components (urinals, bidets).
Concealed toilet flush cistern
The concealed flush cistern does not look like a traditional porcelain flush cistern. He has several differences:
- material of manufacture (for a hidden tank use polymer material, not faience);
- tank shape (hidden drain tank resembles a canister without handles, with openings for various pipes).
In many models of a hidden tank, the outer part is covered with foam. This is necessary for sound insulation and to prevent condensation.
Due to its design, the concealed cistern for a flush toilet does not spoil the appearance of the bathroom. It is installed in the wall (or in a niche) behind the toilet. Or they erect a drywall to hide the tank and pipes.
The only minus of the hidden cistern for the attached toilet cannot be reached quickly. In case of failure, you will have to disassemble the fake wall.
Installation of a flush toilet
Install a flush toilet yourself is quite a simple matter, if you stick to such rules:
- flush toilet should not stagger;
- flush toilet should be correctly located;
- flush toilet should not leak;
- a flush toilet must handle all of its functions.
Toilet Installation Procedure:
- It is necessary to securely fix the position of the knee. Use metal fasteners for this.
- Lubricate the outlet and cuffs with a technical ointment. Temporarily install the toilet.
- Circle the outline of the toilet on the floor and the position of the mounting holes. Then remove the toilet.
- Install the mounting corners at a distance (x + 5 mm) from the contour, where x is the thickness of the ceramic.
- Install the floor-mounted toilet bowl along the circled contours, directing the toilet outlet into the fan pipe. If a hidden flush cistern is used, then it should already be located in the wall. Also, a connecting cuff should already be worn on its release.
- Insert screws and tighten them into installation locations.
- On the screw caps you need to wear decorative plastic caps.
Sink with microlift
Many families buy unusual devices to improve the comfort of their lives. A microlift toilet is one such device. Its popularity lies in the fact that a special device (micro-lift) is built into the toilet lid, which holds the lid when it is closed and prevents it from falling off with a roar. Due to this, cracks and scratches do not occur on the toilet bowl, which extends the life and excellent appearance of the toilet. The micro-lift works identically to the operation of the door closer. You can buy a toilet in a microlift in any plumbing store.
If you already have a good flush toilet, you can purchase a lid with a microlift for it. Specialists in the plumbing salon will help you choose the model you need.
