Electrode boiler Galan and its advantages
Electrode boilers Galan can be confidently attributed to the modern generation of heating units, designed to equip autonomous heating. A change in the design principle of traditionally used electric boilers, namely the replacement of a heating element with an electrode block, made it possible to solve one of the most important problems of an electric device - to significantly extend the life of a heating element, the boiler has become more economical, by more than 30%, to consume electricity (when compared with conventional electrical devices), and the electronic control of the Galan boiler made it possible to fully automate the heating process.
Using this modern boiler allows the consumer to use a cost-effective and reliable heating system. The ability to perform mobile adjustments to the boiler operating mode, the use of modern automation and support for a given work schedule allow the electric boiler to generate thermal energy in an amount sufficient to heat a certain space. A positive point can be considered a progressive increase in the total thermal load of the device along with an increase in the temperature of the carrier. Controlled inertia of heating allows you to use all the advantages of an automatic control system of a high level.
The Galan electrode boiler is designed in such a way that the coolant entering the boiler chamber warms up quickly and throughout the volume, which allows you to reach the specified parameters in just a few minutes. Among the most important advantages of the boiler is the ability to very quickly heat the air in the room.
In the manufacture of heating elements exclusively modern materials are used. If we compare ordinary electric boilers and Galan, then with the same power of the units, the coolant in the latter will heat up 1.5 times faster. The design of the boiler allows you to automatically maintain the minimum temperature in the event that people leave the house for a long period. Since the boiler is powered by electricity, it is not capable of emitting harmful or carcinogenic substances, the boiler is environmentally friendly with a Euro III rating.
The principle of operation of the electrode boiler Galan
The unit is based on passing current through water or a special non-freezing coolant Argus-Galan. This process is not electrolysis, it only causes the ionization of the liquid and its heating, while the vibration of the ions has an industrial frequency of 50 Hz. The natural desire to combine charged particles of the coolant leads to the formation of a significant amount of thermal energy, and therefore to the heating of the coolant itself. The process of rapid heating leads to an increase in pressure inside the unit and the displacement of hot water into the heating system. The natural geyser works in a similar way. The water pressure ensures its effective circulation in all parts of the system.
Galan electrode boilers have a very simple and reliable design, subject to the operating rules, the electrodes can work without replacement for more than 10 years. The main condition for the high efficiency of the electrode heating boiler for the home is the use of a coolant having sufficient resistivity (conductivity). The optimal fluid resistivity at a temperature of +20 C for a Galan electric boiler is from 2950 to 3150 Ohm / cm. To measure the indicator using a special device - conductivity meter.
Specialists recommend using a special heat carrier Argus to start the system, its freezing temperature is -40 C, and the specific conductivity is as required. If water will be used for work, then its preliminary preparation will be required. First, the current indicators are measured in phase at a liquid temperature of about + 20 C, depending on deviations of the result from the norm, salt will need to be added to the water (about 5 g per 100 liters of water) or vice versa, diluted with distilled water. This procedure is described in more detail in the boiler passport.
Since the electrode boiler is closely connected with each of the components of the heating system, certain requirements are also imposed on it:
- open type, two-pipe, with overflow spill,
- the riser must have a height of at least 2 m,
- diameters of feed and return pipes - from 32 to 40 mm,
- for every 1 kW of boiler power in the system, there should be no more than 12 l of coolant.
The most popular models of electrode boilers Galan
Now let's recall some popular models of electric boilers.
Galan Hearth 3
The electrode boiler Galan Ochag 3 is the smallest among similar devices, its weight reaches 0.5 kg, but it has a capacity of 5000 watts, which is enough to heat a room of 250 cubic meters. For the normal functioning of the system, it is enough to fill it with seventy liters of water.
Among the features of starting the device, one can note the low energy threshold and the achievement of maximum values after 12 A. An increase in the resistivity index and an increase in power to a nominal value occurs with further heating of the liquid in the system.
Galan Geyser
This boiler can be classified as a device with medium dimensions and high power (9000 watts). This model is the most popular among consumers. The installation of the Geyser allows you to heat the house with an area of up to 200 square meters. m. Galan Geyser can work both from single-phase and from three-phase power supply systems. The recommended amount of water in the heating system is about 300 liters. The weight of the boiler is 7 kg, it can be placed even in a small room.
Galan Volcano
This model is the most powerful (25000 W), it can be used as a mini-boiler for heating several houses, the volume of which will be about 800 cubic meters. The optimal volume of the coolant in the system is 500 l, power can be supplied from single or three-phase current. Small dimensions and weight, only 7 kg, allow even small utility rooms to be used to install a heating device.
Installation of electrode boiler Galan
To begin with, it can be noted that the installation of the electrode assembly will not be particularly difficult - due to its compact size and low weight. A positive point is the lack of the need to install a pump, boiler, other auxiliary equipment without which the functioning of a classical electric heating system is inconceivable.
The possibility of using water as a heat carrier with the corresponding resistivity parameters, which are not at all difficult to achieve.
safety requirements
In order for the unit to be used safely, the Galan electrode boiler must be connected in accordance with the following requirements:
- installation of the boiler must be accompanied by an arrangement of grounding,
- do not allow the terminals or current-carrying parts to come into contact with the surface of the unit, in addition, you must exclude the possibility of moisture getting on them,
- to shut off the boiler, a circuit breaker is installed, it is recommended to use a 24 A circuit breaker,
- the wiring diagram must correspond to that recommended for this boiler model in its data sheet,
- it is imperative to observe the connection phase - zero - earth,
- before starting the boiler, it is mandatory to check for leaks of all joints, both welded and threaded,
- it is necessary to exclude the possibility of liquids entering the boiler body,
- the unit can be controlled by adults with an understanding of the rules of TB and experience with devices of this type,
- an expansion tank must be included in the heating system,
- in case of freezing the heating system, first turn off the boiler, then proceed to defrost it.
preparatory work
Installation of the heating system is carried out with special care, avoiding the ingress of foreign substances and objects into the pipeline, for example, small particles of metal chips. A coarse filter is necessarily included in the system. Further, it is desirable to flush the system with an inhibitor - a substance that prevents or slows down corrosion processes, aging of polymeric materials, oxidation of oils and fuels, etc.
mounting
Install the boiler vertically so that the protective cap is at the bottom. It is not allowed to operate the boiler in a system with cast-iron radiators; it is best to use modern alloys that are highly resistant to electrolytes. The boiler is usually mounted on one of the walls of the room, the option of connecting it to the system does not really matter. Between the expansion tank and the outlet, no shutoff valves are installed. To ground the heating system, a wire with a cross-section of 2.5 square mm and a resistance of 0.1 Ohm is used.
It is desirable that the boiler is connected to the network by specialists who have access to work with electrical equipment up to 1 kW. A multicore undeserved copper wire is used for connection, its cross section is calculated in accordance with the load.
There are several connection schemes, you can choose the most suitable, but when installing them, a prerequisite is a certain arrangement of sensors:
- the location of the inlet temperature sensor is on the outlet pipe of the last section of the radiator,
- the location of the outlet temperature sensor is the pipe leaving the boiler.
To connect the sensors using copper stranded wire with a cross section of 0.5 - 1 sq. Mm.
To protect the network from overloads, they provide for the installation of a 25 A machine and use it as a switch.
how to set the operating temperature parameter
The best option is to set the output temperature of the coolant about 70-75 degrees. They calculate it taking into account such factors as:
- building air temperature
- the volume of this building,
- heating system volume
- the availability and quality of the thermal insulation system of the structure.
With the correct connection of the circuit breaker, the temperature of the medium in the system will increase rapidly, and the ammeter will not be lower than 23 A.
Normal operation implies full automation of the control process: reaching the temperature limit causes it to turn off automatically, lowering the same indicator to the minimum will lead to its inclusion. The process is controlled by an inlet sensor that records the temperature parameters of the fluid in the sections of the radiator.
which coolants to use
Since the period and quality of operation of the boiler depend on the selected heat carrier, special attention should be paid to the process of selecting a liquid. The quality of the water must match drinking. You can resort to the use of boiled water by adding a Galan inhibitor to it. Do not forget about the mandatory compliance of the resistivity of the liquid recommended.
The best option is to use Argus Galan fluid, designed specifically for this type of boiler.
