How to make a shower in the country with your own hands
Summer. Heat. Work on the site in such conditions does not bring much satisfaction. But it is necessary, it is necessary. How wonderful it would be to plunge into the cool water. However, the pool has not yet been built; the nearest reservoir is far away. Well, do not drench, after all, from the bucket and do not dive into the barrel! If there is a pump, you can, of course, ask the children to spray from the second floor on their heads, but it is unlikely to look aesthetically pleasing, and the dirt around this impromptu watering can not be planted. There is an easy, inexpensive and fairly quick way to make a shower for a summer cottage on your own.

Design
The choice of a place for a shower is important. It is better to install it in a space closed from the wind and prying eyes, between trees or buildings. The land should be flat and loose so that water does not accumulate under the pallet. Ideally, if the place for a shower is on a small hill, then the water will be guaranteed to leave. Also, crushed stone can be used as additional drainage. It is advisable not to have an outdoor shower close to the fence of the neighboring plot, as the soil around the structure will often be moist and this may not please the neighbors. This problem is removed if the project provides for a primitive sewage system. A shower can be combined with a summer kitchen using a dual purpose water tank. With the help of fittings and plastic pipes, an additional tap is made for the sink in the kitchen. It would be nice to make a drawing of the future structure, specifying the alleged materials in advance. It is necessary to decide whether the shower will be stationary or collapsible.
Material selection
It is better to use light materials, such as pipes, plastic, polyethylene when installing a collapsible shower, which will be dismantled for winter due to possible vandalism or theft. If these dangers do not threaten your site, then you can build a stationary structure. The easiest way to build a wooden shower for the garden, using bars for the frame and pallet, and boards for the walls.
But the wooden structure has the disadvantages of light weight and windage, so the necessary conditions for the construction of a wooden shower are shelter from the wind. A good solution is a shower for giving from polycarbonate, lightweight, inexpensive and easy to install material. You just need to screw the sheets previously cut to size with screws. For the winter they are easy to unscrew, if necessary.
Frame device
If a collapsible design is proposed, pipes with larger diameter tubes welded in the corners to use side sections are used for the lower and upper frames.
If a solid stationary frame is made, a metal corner is used with a shelf height of at least 100 mm. To give stability, the base of the frame is dug deeper into the ground, and, if possible, concreted. Tank mounts are welded (or screwed) onto the upper frame.
Tank mounting
The load on the frame depends on the volume of the water tank, so for a less durable construction of pipes, a tank with a capacity of not more than 200 liters is suitable. Now on sale a large selection of plastic water tanks with an already made outlet pipe is offered. You can find a flat iron tank, which will lie along the entire perimeter of the upper frame and will be something like a roof. There are ads on the Internet for the sale of used tanks for various liquids, which can only be thoroughly washed. A metal shower tank will provide a more intense natural heating of water, since the metal is more heat-resistant and heats up faster than polyethylene in the sun. If you need a shower for summer cottages, you can install a second tank for hot water with a built-in heater.
When installing a tank with a heater, special attention must be paid to insulation of the electrical wiring and protection against overload (a 10A circuit breaker is placed in front of the socket).
Piping system
In order to fill the shower tank with cold water, a permanent pipe is mounted from a regular rubber hose from a water pipe or from a well.
An ordinary trickle will fill a 200-liter capacity in half an hour. To connect two tanks, if it is separate for hot water, metal-plastic pipes and corresponding fittings (90 g., Tees, etc.) will help. The last outlet must be threaded where the spray nozzle is screwed. For winter, the nozzle must be removed.
Pallet
The shower tray for the summer shower is best made from wooden, pre-sanded bars with a section of 40 or 50 mm. The corners of the bars facing up should be slightly rounded with a planer.
The finished pallet is coated with wood preservative and varnish. It is also possible to manufacture a pallet from boards, but it will last less. Installation of a deepened metal pan is possible using a sewage system.
Walls and door
If a wooden shower is being built for a summer residence, the walls inside and outside must be covered with a protective compound to protect against excess moisture.
Since the door will constantly deform with high humidity, it can be replaced with a vinyl curtain, suspended depending on the design on a telescopic bar or a curved tube. About polycarbonate walls it is written here.
