Poinsettia at home, how to plant, how to care for poinsettia
The amazingly beautiful plant that we call the Christmas Star has a very long and mysterious history. In fact, it became a Christmas star only some hundred years ago, when its cut branches began to be sold for the holiday in stores located on the famous Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood. Wealthy citizens happily bought it to decorate the festive table for Christmas. But long before that, the beauty of the plant brought to Europe was appreciated by the ministers of the church and used it as a decoration for the winter holidays (active flowering of the plant begins in this period). Poinsettia, as the Christmas star is actually called, according to legend was the favorite plant of the Indian leader Montezuma. A beautiful ancient legend says that a flower appeared from drops of blood that fell to the ground from the heart of an Indian goddess broken by love. Another name for the plant, Euphorbia pulcherrima - euphorbia, the most beautiful of euphorbia, was given by poisettia Karl Vilenov, director of the Botanical Garden, located in Berlin. It is under this name that the plant is listed in modern botanical reference books.

Wood wool, what is it, warm floor wood wool
The word wool for us is associated with a widespread animal product, a thread obtained from sheep or goat fur and used in the manufacture of clothing or household items. Of course, wood wool has nothing to do with the aforementioned product, but is wood shavings that are thin and long. A few decades ago, in the countries of the former Union, the production of wood wool was very common, many woodworking machines were set up in such a way that all the waste received during processing did not look like sawdust, but a long chip. Wood wool, the production of which was practiced in each timber industry enterprise, was produced annually in the amount of tens of thousands of tons. Today it is made much less, but still in some sectors of the national economy its application remains a rather urgent issue. The reason for this is versatility, environmental friendliness, ease of disposal, attractive and original appearance.

Thatched roof, heather roof, construction sequence
The name thatched roof is not at all unambiguous, this term combines an interesting option for using natural materials as roofing. Thatched roofs were built almost all over the world in ancient times, only reeds and reeds, sedge and palm leaves were used as straw in different countries, and in Scotland even heather was used as a roofing material. The choice fell on plants suitable in quality characteristics and quite common in the area. Naturally, the natural material received free of charge was in most cases demanded by the poorest strata of the population. However, to especially complain about the quality of such roofs is simply a sin. Neatly laid with a thick layer of straw or other materials of plant origin perfectly coped with the tasks, protecting the house from wind, cold and heat, snow and rain.

Brushing, wood brushing
Even the strongest wood, under the influence of natural conditions, becomes old over time and acquires a noble appearance. But nature spends a lot of time on such processes. A master engaged in the manufacture of original brushed wood products cannot afford to wait decades for the material to mature, so he analyzed the natural technology of wood aging and created his own special version of processing, which allows to obtain similar results in the shortest possible time. But, unlike the natural long aging process, which makes the tree weaker, modern brushing allows you to increase its strength. The secret is that the processing removes loose layers. The remaining, stronger structures are treated with special chemicals that protect the wood from decay and damage by insects.
