We install vacuum heating radiators, features of selection and installation, useful tips
With the onset of winter cold, each of us begins to be especially sensitive to the issues of heating and temperature conditions in our apartment - an insufficiently warmed-up room in winter seems uncomfortable, staying in it can hardly be called comfortable. The problem of installing additional heating equipment nowadays is solved quickly and simply, problems begin at the moment when utility bills arrive. The amounts that we see make us think about the need to find more rational and economical methods of heating homes. There is a need to obtain information on various kinds of new products that allow the use of the received thermal energy with maximum efficiency. Although vacuum heating radiators can not be attributed to new products, they can be found not so often.

How vacuum radiators work
To obtain savings on the use of heating devices of this type, a special radiator device contributes. Increased efficiency is obtained due to the small volumes of water that are required for their work. For example, to fill one section, you need 0.5 l of water. This is despite the fact that in each of the sections of a classic cast-iron radiator, you will need to pour about 4 liters of liquid. Using a gas boiler in the heating system can save about 30%.
When using electric boilers, the savings will be about 40%. If the boiler is solid or liquid fuel, then the fuel consumption can be reduced by two to three times. In addition, the use of vacuum radiators will not lead to a decrease in heat transfer, but rather can enhance it.
The main secret of the effectiveness of vacuum radiators is that they are filled with a special coolant. The batteries are made in such a way as to ensure their complete tightness and fill them with volatile liquid. To the bottom of the radiator connect the coolant supply pipe and return line, which provide fluid circulation. The coolant boils at a temperature of +35 C, heat enters the radiating section in the form of steam.
Electric vacuum heatsinks are designed similarly. The electric system combines the positive aspects of portable heaters and stationary batteries, when arranging such systems, instead of a flow pipe, electric heaters with temperature regulators are used.
The main advantages of vacuum radiators
Before talking about the advantages of vacuum devices, it should be remembered that rational use can only be achieved if they are installed expediently. Please note that this is ideal if you need to quickly warm up the room to the desired temperature. Cast iron batteries should be resorted to if the room requires a smooth decrease and increase in temperature.
The main advantages of superconducting lithium bromide radiators are:
- small mass
- installation without the use of additional fittings,
- small amount of water required for the functioning of the system,
- possibilities of application in low- or medium-temperature systems,
- the ability to quickly heat the room,
- impossibility of airing or clogging radiators,
- no need for cleaning or rinsing,
- safe operation.
The principle of operation of vacuum heating radiators allows the use of furnaces and boilers, boilers, solar panels as a source of thermal energy.
Despite the high efficiency of vacuum heating devices, one should not rely on the fact that the energy consumption will be reduced many times, although the savings will be significant. The only obstacle that may not be in favor of installing vacuum heating radiators is the price, which at first glance seems high. But taking into account the feedback of consumers who managed to evaluate this effective modern version of the heating system, we can conclude that its use is economically viable.
Application area
Based on the characteristics and features, the scope of their use of vacuum radiators can be limited quite clearly. It makes no sense to use them in centralized heating systems, except in those apartments where there are meters. They will be an ideal option in the case of using autonomous heating systems, savings in this case will be obtained by reducing the amount of coolant used.
The owners of houses heated by low-power boilers can benefit particularly. For the high-quality functioning of vacuum batteries, it is not necessary to achieve a high carrier temperature.
Features of Vacuum Batteries
The efficiency of vacuum heating devices is due to the unique circulation of coolant in them. If in conventional batteries the upward movement of hotter water is a prerequisite, then in vacuum water moves exclusively at the bottom of the battery. The free space is filled with a mixture of lithium and boron. For full heating of the section, half a liter of liquid is required, the amount is 7 times less than for radiators made of steel or aluminum.
The mixture filling the vacuum space has an amazing property: its boiling starts at a temperature of about +35 degrees C, this leads to a very fast and uniform heating of the heating device and its full heat transfer.
The heat exchange organized in this way completely eliminates the possibility of formation of air jams; the pipes will not become clogged with slag and will not suffer from corrosion. To bring the radiator into working condition, a large heat consumption is not required, the heat transfer process begins immediately after the start of the heating system.
How to install vacuum radiators with your own hands
Installation work on the installation is very easy to do on their own. The main thing is to follow the sequence:
- After draining the coolant, the old heating system is dismantled.
- Then mark the place for installing new radiators.
- Mount a stable mounting system, which is used as brackets.
- To connect to the main pipes, ball valves are installed, use sealant or tow.
- Each completed joint must be checked for leaks, for this the assembled system is filled with water.
Experts do not recommend using abrasive materials to clean abutting surfaces - it leaves metal particles on the surface that are dangerous for circulation pumps.
Is it safe to use vacuum radiators
When buying a heating device, we are worried that it fits well into the interior of the room, has high heat dissipation, is economical and has a long service life. But it will not be superfluous to think about how safe the purchased device will be. It is not superfluous to recall that in ordinary batteries, often because of the high pressure in the system and the aggressive environment of the coolant, emergency situations occur - seals, cases and plugs cannot withstand it. Restoring a damaged system and property can sometimes cost a hefty amount.
From a safety point of view, it is quite difficult to make claims against vacuum radiators:
- they differ in the minimum number of connections, do not have plugs and gaskets, faucets, nipples,
- their case is a monolith with two threaded connections for connecting to the heating system,
- depressurizing the system is very difficult,
- a small amount of water in the system, even if the integrity of the battery is compromised, will not lead to flooding of the room,
- the pressure in the system is low and is only about 78 atmospheres.
The most unpleasant thing that can happen as a result of depressurization of a system is its failure. By installing innovative heating equipment in your home, you can get higher quality space heating, energy savings and increased reliability guarantees.
