Floor gas boilers
Gas boilers in our time are actively used in order to provide autonomous heating and water supply at home. According to statistics, gas boilers account for half of all existing heating devices. In addition, gas boilers are simple in the installation process and in maintenance, although they are demanding to comply with technical standards related to both the hood and the installation process.

Double circuit gas floor boilers
Double-circuit gas floor boilers not only heat the room, but also heat the water.
And single-circuit gas heating boilers perform only the function of heating a room, without the possibility of heating hot water.
A double-circuit gas boiler floor can be used by both the family and a significant number of consumers. This type of equipment has both high power and efficiency.
These heating boilers operate in the priority mode of hot water supply, that is, if you turn on the tap, the heating circuit will stop working while the water is flowing.
If the house has more than four tenants and several bathrooms, then it costs nothing to connect a boiler to a double-circuit gas floor boiler, in order to maintain balance if possible.
Gas single-circuit heating boilers
Gas single-circuit floor boilers are notable for their considerable power, which in some cases reaches several kilowatts.
But in order for a single-circuit boiler not only to heat housing, but also to heat water for domestic hot water, a boiler is needed, and additional equipment, which also needs to be placed somewhere, is needed.
Given its size and additional equipment, it is recommended to install it in a specially equipped room. It should be noted that when installing a single-circuit gas boiler, much more work needs to be done than when installing a double-circuit gas boiler.
Floor-standing cast iron gas boilers
The heating scheme by a floor-mounted cast-iron gas boiler is such that the heat carrier from the boiler, while observing the required slope, moves through the heating pipes, with or without a circulation pump, and thus provides heat through heating devices.
Cast-iron floor heat exchangers are much more reliable and more durable than steel wall-mounted gas boilers.
Cast iron heat exchangers are not subject to corrosion, they are usually thicker than steel, which can also positively affect its service life.
But cast iron is a rather brittle metal, and during its operation there is a risk of microcracks, for example, during transportation.
Also, during the long-term operation of cast-iron heat exchangers under conditions of increased water hardness, as well as due to their design features and some well-known properties of cast iron, cast-iron boilers are gradually destroyed in the situation of local overheating.
To reduce the likelihood of negative consequences, good design is needed to help create a system in which the life of a cast-iron boiler is maximized.
How to choose the best gas floor boilers
All world manufacturers of gas floor boilers can be divided into three main price groups:
- the most expensive and, accordingly, high-quality German, made in Germany (Buderus, Viessmann, Valliant);
- medium-priced and at the same time high-quality boilers English, made in the UK (Wester), as well as Belgian (ACV) and Czech (Dakon, Mora, Viadrus);
- the cheapest - Russian (Zhukovsky Machine Building Plant AOGV, AKGV, Podolsky ZIOSAB).
The volume of the article does not allow a closer look at all the best manufacturers of gas floor boilers, so we mentioned only a small part of them, but the full list of such companies is much wider.
In addition, our conditional division into price categories is rather arbitrary, the manufacturers listed by us can produce both expensive and relatively cheap boiler models. So, for example, companies such as Buderus, Viessmann, Valliant, which are conditionally assigned by us to the first price group, also produce relatively inexpensive floor-standing gas boilers.
Installation of floor gas boilers
Before starting installation of a gas heating system in a house, one should carefully consider the choice of a suitable room, taking into account certain requirements for its installation. So, double-circuit floor gas boilers are installed only in rooms that correspond to a number of certain parameters:
- the area of \u200b\u200bthe room must be at least 15 m2;
- the height of the room can not be less than 2.5 m;
- a prerequisite is the presence of a window of sufficient size;
-the width of the doorway should be at least 80 cm;
- ensuring free access to all appliances of the gas heating system with the possibility of their maintenance.
Even at the stage of designing the boiler room, the presence of a chimney must be taken into account, which meets all the necessary technical parameters.
Then the gas floor boiler is installed directly, which consists in:
- preparation of the foundation;
- connecting heating equipment directly to the chimney;
- connecting a gas boiler to the internal heating system of the house;
- installation of a filter for hard water purification;
- connecting the boiler to a direct supply of cold water;
- connecting the pipeline for domestic hot water;
- connecting a gas boiler to a gas pipeline system or to an autonomous gas supply system.
Each of these actions involves a certain effort and a highly qualified approach, taking all safety measures and performing the installation in accordance with established standards.
It is also necessary in the future to timely carry out maintenance of the installed floor gas boiler.
This is done competently, according to all the rules, only professionals can do their job, therefore it is best to entrust the work of installing the gas heating system in the house to them and not try to do it on their own.
Modern floor gas boilers are a traditional, conservative thing that has not undergone any major technological changes over many years of use, which has repeatedly proved its reliability.
