Where houses were built taking into account autonomous heating or hot water, there are no special problems. But what if you live in an apartment building and there is no separate chimney? What types of gas water heaters are
There are three types of speakers available on the market:
- with an open combustion chamber;
- closed combustion chamber;
- smokeless gas water heaters.

This column is attractive in price (about $ 100) and in size. In addition, as the name implies, she does not need a chimney. This is both good and bad. When operating smokeless columns, the danger to residents increases many times. Therefore, it is not surprising that in some countries, for example, in neighboring Ukraine, they are banned. In Russia, there is currently no ban on the use of this type of speaker. As the most extreme option of arranging a hot water system in a country house or a country house, it can work.
Turbocharged speakers are suitable for those who do not have the opportunity to equip a chimney. Those. combustion products are forced out through a bellows pipe in the wall. How to choose a geyser

When developing a project, you can set the column parameters yourself. In most cases, this means that you choose the power of the column. Its capacity will depend on power (how many liters of water it will heat per minute), its size and weight. All other functions are already a degree of comfort, and accordingly the manufacturer will charge an additional fee for it. Here everyone is free to choose a water heater to their taste and affluence.
In order to choose the right power, we take the average performance of the speakers. It may vary depending on the technological solutions of the manufacturer, but will not change the general situation. So speakers with power:
- up to 17 kW are able to heat up to 11 l / min;
- up to 24 kW heat up to 14 l / min;
- up to 30 kW 17 l / min.
Now you need to determine the amount of water that our water supply system is able to provide. To do this, take a 10 liter bucket, open the tap and time. Suppose in one minute we scored 10 liters. So, not a single column will give us a productivity of more than 10 l / min. Accordingly, paying for a 30 kW column does not make sense either. In this case, we take a compact and inexpensive speaker with a capacity of up to 17 kW.

If pressure drops in water pipes are not uncommon, then pay attention to the minimum pressure threshold at which the column starts to work. Option with 0.1 atm. ensures that even with low water pressure in the system, you will not be left without hot water.
And most importantly, the column must be certified and adapted for our country. This is due to the fact that the pressure standards in gas pipelines are different in our country and in Europe. The unit simply will not give us the indicators declared by the manufacturer.
Can I install it myself
No, we cannot do without GORGAZ. All gas equipment is subject to accounting and supervision. Any installation of gas equipment begins with the development of the project and ends with the act of registration with the local gas economy. Therefore, either we turn to the same GORGAZ, or to any private company licensed for this type of work. There is no third. Otherwise, there will be fines, courts and other hassle.
How to save on replacing a gas water heater
When replacing the old column, the situation is almost the same. Of course, you can buy a column and change it in 30 minutes. As already mentioned, technically, replacing the column is not a complicated matter. Unscrew the three nuts (if we change the hoses then 6 nuts) and tighten back. If everything is done correctly, there will be no problems until the supervisory authorities come with an inspection. And then it will already depend on the character and mood of the gasman. Up to the fine and sealing of the gas pipeline with the corresponding gas supply shut-off. Then go to the offices and settle the dispute. And it will come out more expensive and a lot of nerves will go away.
Therefore, you can choose and buy a column yourself. But with a replacement, it is better to contact the gas industry or a private company. By the way, some stores offer free installation by their specialists.
Also, the bonus of connecting with the hands of a specialist will be the maintenance of a guarantee for the equipment. So in many instructions for geysers it is clearly indicated that the waiver of warranty is an independent installation of the device. There is another option, but it is not always available.
