How to make a beautiful stone and brick fence yourself using metal sections with forged elements
A beautiful fence is a business card at home. If desired, such beauty can be created with your own hands. I want to tell you about how to make a metal fence with casting elements with your own hands.

Organizational matters
Before starting work, it is necessary to submit an application and obtain permission in the city administration (architecture), since such a fence refers to small architectural forms and in the future requires changes to inventory. At this stage, it is necessary to determine by measuring the number and size of spans, the location and size of the gate (a span of less than 2.5 m will not look).
Building the foundation for the fence
It is necessary to dig a trench to the depth of freezing of the soil, 0.5 m wide. At the bottom of the trench, it is necessary to put a frame of reinforcement with a thickness of 10-12 mm, since the load on the foundation will not be distributed over the entire area, but concentrated in the places where the columns are installed.
In order for the frame to carry the carrying capacity, it needs to be raised from the ground by 5-8cm. After that, we make pouring with concrete mortar with filling with large elements of stone, concrete, a fight of silicate brick.
During pouring, it is necessary to install columns from the pipe (the profile does not matter), the height of the columns from the ground level should correspond to the height of the planned fence.
We spread the base of the fence made of rubble stone
We make masonry with rubble stone under the cord, the top of the masonry should be brought out to zero. Perhaps a slight deviation that can be eliminated by laying decorative tiles made of natural materials, it is possible concrete but the appearance will suffer. The width of the masonry depends on the planned height of the fence and can range from forty to sixty centimeters. The stone should be laid choosing the most even side, leaving the external joints not filled with mortar.
At the end of the work, the seams are cleaned, filled with a special watering can made of dense fabric with an adhesive mixture that is resistant to atmospheric influences, with the addition of building soot and the decorative finish of the seam is made, a convex structure is attached.
We spread the columns
The color of the brick is chosen at the discretion of the builder, the most common are red, yellow and mustard. In my opinion, mustard is most suitable for rubble stone.
Torn stone masonry is made on the adhesive composition with the addition of building soot around existing metal columns. The fragmentary stone does not have even angles; therefore, masonry defects are visually difficult to identify.
To obtain the same joint thickness, we use a square wire 8 mm thick. During masonry, we weld two strips of metal 50-55 cm long to each metal column. (in the future, sections of the fence will be welded to them) and brick them. The seam is made as if pressed inward by 0.8-1cm to improve the appearance.
At the end of the masonry, the column is covered with a concrete cover, which can be purchased at organizations producing paving slabs.
Production of metal sections, installation
The first step is to decide on a constructive solution based on the availability of finished bent elements, cast tips, petals, etc. in construction supermarkets. Here you can show a flight of fancy.
I started from the proportions of the span of the fence, strict style and the desire to come up with a design in which the welding seams will be closed as much as possible because the welder from me is not very important.
First, we sit down at the table and make a drawing of the fence section in proportions (for example, 1 meter -2cm.), On which we apply all the metal elements. According to the finished drawing, we select materials (strip 0.05x0.4x2.45m. -4pcs., Square 0.12x0.12x1m. -10pcs., Square 0.12x0.12x1.2 m. -4pcs., Square 0.08x0. 08x1m.-12pcs.), I warn you once again that depending on the size of the opening between the columns, the sizes of metal elements are determined. My opening is 2.5x1.1m ..
After we purchased the metal, cut to size, we take the square to the turner for twisting into a spiral. You can twist yourself, but for this you need to make a special device, it is longer and requires more labor.
Peaks are easier and more convenient to weld to a square right away, so that later you can assemble sections that are ready to be assembled.
It is very important to properly prepare the place where welding will be carried out, access to the section is required both from above and from below. I put a square pipe 50x50mm in increments of 0.5 m on the wooden beams, previously aligned in level, after which the strip is expanded in size, the diagonals are necessarily aligned and the extreme risers are welded.
Using a tape measure and chalk, mark the places where the elements are welded on the strip, lay out and weld all the details to the lower stripes, lay out the upper stripes and grab it in accessible places. Turn the section over and boil all the elements to the non-welded strips.
The base of the gate is assembled from a 40x40mm square pipe, all the parts are assembled by analogy to the intake section, we cut in the lock, weld the loops inside the 50mm corner, after which all the assembled elements are primed, painted and welded to the embedded parts left in the brick columns.
Brickwork and masonry made of rubble stone with a spray gun are treated with a special primer, which prevents moisture from entering and highlights the structure of the stone. The concrete covers on the posts can also be painted with soot diluted with glue.
