Turkish bath on the plot, how to build a Turkish bath with your own hands, we build the bath in stages
Fans of custom solutions in the construction industry, thinking about building a bathhouse on a personal plot, are increasingly refusing to build a traditional Russian bathhouse. And the reason for this is not only the desire for originality, but also a huge number of advantages of analogues of the Russian bath. One of the most common analogues, the interest of builders in which is increasing more and more, is the Turkish bath hamam.

Hamam is a colorful attribute of oriental culture. Climatic conditions in hammam
Hamam is considered the most colorful attribute of oriental culture, which is rooted in ancient times. Istanbul and Ancient Anatolia became cities where the first mention of a traditional Turkish bath appeared 800 years ago.
The brightest attributes of oriental culture attract the attention of Europeans not only by the mysterious originality of the culture of the east. The wide spread of Turkish baths is explained by many advantages that attract residents of the middle zone with the opportunity to improve their health.
And this is not surprising, because the climatic characteristics created in the Turkish steam room are considered the most favorable for the human body. The comfortable thermal regime created in the Turkish steam room is not addictive, and the relative air humidity approaching 100% makes it much easier to tolerate high temperatures. The temperature of the steam supplied to the steam room does not exceed 45 degrees and allows you to completely immerse yourself in the steam cloud, which leads to the benefit of the Turkish bath, which consists in normalizing thermoregulation and blood circulation, as well as in the most complete relaxation of the muscles. In order to enhance the therapeutic effect of steam, it is saturated with essential oils of medicinal plants.

If you seriously think about building a Turkish bath with your own hands, you should understand that this process will drag on for 1-3 months. Before the construction of the Turkish bath, please note that its design solution involves at least 2 rooms, since one room must be allocated for the installation of technical equipment for the Turkish bath, where it is necessary to place the steam generator and aroma generator.
The arrangement of a hamam can be carried out in any part of the building, taking into account only the fact that during construction there will be a decrease in the functional area.
The ceiling in the project of the Turkish bath is usually equipped in the form of a dome, which is not only an original architectural option for construction, but also an extremely important functional feature of the hamam. It is thanks to this technological technique that steam that is prone to condensation when rising up does not drip down, but flows down the dome. Speaking about the features of the floor in a Turkish bath, it should be noted that it should have a slight slope to ensure a high-quality drain of excess moisture. Another important feature of the floor is mandatory heating.
When building a Turkish bath, one should not forget about the importance of a ventilation system in a hamam project. It is caused by almost 100 percent humidity, as a result of which the air in the bath should be updated every 15 minutes.
Technical equipment. Steam generator and heating
Modern technologies include maintaining a constant temperature and air humidity through a steam generator and heating system. The steam generator must be autonomous and not dependent on heating, which, in turn, can be either water or electric. At the same time, water heating is the most budgetary option, which provides for the circulation of hot water through pipes of small diameter, heated by means of a boiler with electric heating.
As mentioned earlier, a high level of humidity is a distinctive feature of the Turkish bath, and as a result, increased attention should be paid to the choice of a steam generator. Its selection is carried out based on the size of the room. A necessary technological condition for a steam generator is its equipping with a temperature sensor, due to which the device will be switched off after reaching a temperature of more than 55 degrees. The location of the steam generator is produced in the technical unit, and the remote control and the scoreboard, which displays the temperature at the entrance to the steam room. The steam generator must be connected to central electricity and water supply systems.
Decorative decoration
When decorating the premises of the Turkish bath, it is necessary to observe the principles of moisture and heat insulation, as a result of which the wood used to decorate the traditional type of baths is not the material of choice when arranging the Turkish bath. The list of works on finishing the hammam includes laying insulation, waterproofing, arranging reflective vapor barrier, plastering and lining with decorative materials.
From a historical point of view, the main decorative material used in the finishing work in the Turkish bath is marble, which emphasizes its high status and is characterized by long-term operation. The cheaper material, which is not inferior in its performance characteristics to marble, is talchochlorite, which regulates temperature changes and prevents sudden cooling.
For finishing the floor, smalt, which is a small multi-colored mosaic, will become the optimal material. Professionals use it as a material for creating various oriental ornaments and drawings, which most clearly reflects the essence of oriental philosophy.
Traditional attributes of a Turkish bath
It is worth noting that the Turkish bath project provides for many attributes that are also necessary to create a kind of atmosphere of the reign of oriental culture. These attributes include the kurna, which is a marble bath bowl with two copper taps, with cold and hot water.
Kurna is considered a tribute to the traditions of oriental culture.
Another mandatory stage of construction is the installation of a massage table and benches made of brick and not forgetting about proper heating. The classic version of the massage table provides for the location on it at the same time several people. Its height should be at least 80 cm.
The door is an integral element of the Turkish bath
An integral element of the Turkish steam room is the door. Its importance is due to the fact that the door to the Turkish bath is designed to maintain a certain therapeutic balance, preventing heat and steam from entering the steam room. Today, plastic, wood and glass are used for building doors. But each material has certain drawbacks. Wood, for example, under the influence of excessive moisture is prone to deformation, plastic will lose its original appearance in a few years, and the metal will be eaten by rust.
The know-how in the construction of the Turkish bath is the use of heat-resistant glass doors. Such glass will not lose its original characteristics under the influence of high temperatures and high humidity. The fragility of the material should also not be cause for concern, since the use of modern technological solutions allows such a material to withstand temperatures exceeding 300 degrees.
Special attention should be paid to the box for doors. For a longer preservation of its functional characteristics, it is made mainly of processed wood or aluminum. Door handles must also be made from corrosion resistant materials.
Doors for a hamam should successfully harmonize with the decoration of the main room, called the Jamekyans, which is achieved by styling them in bronze or giving them noble shades. All this makes the doors a harmonious addition to the luxurious decoration of the Turkish bath, without which an elegant picture of oriental mystery would not be so perfect.
