Wicket door
An increasing number of people are inclined to perform the fence, gates and gates, using corrugated board. Of course, an acceptable cost, along with a long service life, really turn out to be significant indicators, and corrugated board installation is not so complicated.
necessary materials
In the process of work you will need:
- 2 channel beams with a thickness of 10-16 mm;
- 23 profiled pipes measuring 50x50 mm for the manufacture of the frame of the future product;
- 4 corners 50x4 mm;
- Profiled sheet;
- Self-tapping screws corresponding to the shade of corrugated board;
- Level;
- Castle;
- Hinges
- Roulette;
- Concrete mortar;
- Gravel;
- Shovel;
- Welding machine;
- Screwdriver;
- Drill;
- Bulgarian.
manufacturing technology and installation of gates
The stages of the work are as follows:
- We calculate the dimensions of the future gate, while the height is taken equal to the height of the already installed fence, or the gate, and the width is free, although you still should not choose a value of less than 1 m. In addition, it is necessary to leave 2 cm in the gaps between the wicket blade and the support beams;
- We take out the soil to a depth of 1.3-1.5 m in the places designated for the installation of channel beams, which should be welded together with the lower bar to avoid any skew in the spring;
- We install beams whose ends are pretreated with bitumen to reduce the likelihood of corrosion, while the lower crossbar can be slightly drown in the soil by removing a small layer of soil;
- We expose the beams according to the level and fill them with concrete mixture, periodically adding gravel to the pits for better adhesion with the metal;
- While the cement mortar sets (day 3), we cut the profile for the manufacture of the base of the gate, the relative height and width of the canvas;
- At the ends of the obtained segments using a square, mark the angles of 45 C and cut them off with a grinder;
- We lay out the elements of the base on an even plane and check the diagonal convergence, while the plane is set according to the level. We weld the corners using the spot welding method to avoid burning holes in the metal;
- We cut off the cross-member from the profile and also weld in the middle of the gate;
- The base wall intended for fastening loops is reinforced by means of corners;
- We fasten the loops to the canvas, having previously drilled holes or welded;
- We outline the loops on the support beams, after which these places are also reinforced with corners;
- A gap of 10-15 cm should be left between the gate leaf and the soil so as not to run into the problem of the impossibility of opening the gate in winter due to snowdrifts;
- We fix the gate in the opening;
- If a mortise lock is used, then it is necessary to weld the embedded parts in its location, on both sides of the profile;
- We process the entire structure with a corrosion inhibitor;
- Cut out the sheet necessary for the size of the corrugated sheet;
- We fasten the profiled sheet to the frame using self-tapping screws.
Everything, the do-it-yourself wicket door is ready. It remains only to install a lock, a handle, wait until the concrete has completely hardened and you can safely use it.
Wooden gate
Despite the short service life, wooden gates are still in high demand due to the beauty and unique pattern of the material. In addition, to make a wooden gate is quite simple, having prepared everything you need in advance.
tools and materials
To work, you will need:
- 2 wooden poles;
- Boards for creating a frame, at least 5 cm thick;
- Boards for a covering;
- 4 metal corner connectors;
- Self-tapping screws;
- Concrete mortar;
- Door knob;
- 2 loops;
- Latch;
- Primer on wood;
- Paint or varnish.
In addition, the following tools must be prepared:
- Screwdriver;
- Hacksaw;
- Chisel;
- Hammer;
- Plane;
- Square;
- Pencil;
- Drill;
- Sandpaper;
- Level.
manufacturing technology and installation of gates
The process of creating a gate is quite simple and includes the following types of work:
- With a plane we remove all the irregularities and roughnesses present on the boards, poles;
- Determine the size. If the gate posts are not yet installed, then the height of the gate is considered equal to the height of the fence, while the width is taken arbitrarily from 1-1.5 m + 1 cm on each side of the canvas. These gaps provide unobstructed opening / closing of the gate in high humidity conditions;
- In the designated places we dig holes about 11.5 m deep;
- Supporting wooden poles are treated with antiseptics against decay and after drying we install in prepared pits;
- Knead the concrete solution;
- We expose the columns according to the level and, pouring the solution, do not forget to throw stones in the middle-sized pit for better strength;
- Leave the solution to solidify for 2-3 days.
At this time, you can do the assembly of the gate, for which:
- On a flat surface, lay out the sawn boards in the form of a box, cut to the required size;
- Using a square on the boards we draw corners 45 C and saw off;
- We clean the places of sawing with sandpaper;
- We assemble the box using corner connectors and screws;
- Compare the correspondence of the box to the distance between the posts;
- We establish a brace;
- We outline the location of the loops;
- By means of a chisel and a hammer in the places designated for the loops we make indentations of 0.5 cm;
- We fasten the loops on the screws;
- We sheathe the resulting frame with boards or a picket fence, fixing each board in the upper, lower crossbar, as well as in the strut;
- We try on the finished canvas of the gate and outline the location of the loops on the column;
- We remove the canvas to the side and in the places of marking cases, the same recesses under the loops as on the frame, we drill holes for them;
- Holding the canvas, we fix the loops on the posts;
- Install the handle;
- We process the finished wicket from wood with a primer and let it dry;
- We cover the product with varnish or paint.
Thus, to build a wooden gate with your own hands is relatively quick and relatively cheap relative to other types of gates.
Retractable Wicket
Compared to wickets made of wood or corrugated board, the sliding wicket is a fairly new type, so it is much more difficult to make it. In addition, most of the components will have to be purchased at the store, which will result in a decent cost, although the end result is quite worth it.
necessary materials
To create and install a wicket with your own hands you will need:
- Channel 200 mm;
- Armature d \u003d 12;
- Pipe 60x40 mm for the frame;
- Profiled sheet;
- Roller guide;
- 2 roller trolleys;
- A device for opening a gate;
- Self-tapping screws;
- Screwdriver;
- Level;
- Bulgarian;
- Welding machine;
- Square;
- Drill.
work execution technology
To build a sliding gate with your own hands, you must adhere to the following procedure:
- We cut off from the channel a length equal to the width of the opening;
- We make holes in the channel for the reinforcing cage, backing 2-3 cm on the one side and 10-15 cm on the other. 4 holes are obtained on each side of the channel;
- We cut the reinforcement into the necessary segments and weld from them the frame in the form of the letter H (2 pieces are necessary for such parts). In this case, the length of the frame is 1-1.5 m, and the width is slightly less than the length of the channel by 1015 cm. We connect the bottom of each frame element by an additional cross member, deviating from the edge of 2-3 cm. In addition, we weld pins 4- long on the upper edges of the reinforcement 5 cm;
- We connect the channel with the frame. In this case, the frame pins will be 4-5 cm above the channel, we fix the structure with bolts;
- We mount the drive platform on the channel from the side facing the yard;
- We also attach to the platform the plate and anchor, which are included with the drive;
- A swarm in a trench 1-1.5 m deep and a width and length slightly exceeding the dimensions of the mortgage with the drive platform;
- We install the finished mortgage, lengthening in the direction of the future gate, into the trench;
- Check the horizontal installation through the level;
- To the elongated part of the channel we screw a support column, the length of which is equal to the height of the door leaf. In this case, the pole is located on the side opposite to the mounting of the platform drive;
- We carry drive wires of automation;
- We fill the trench with concrete mixture;
- After hardening of concrete, roller mechanisms can be installed on reinforcing pins;
- We make the frame of the future gate, consisting of a rectangle and a triangle, which have one common side;
- To create a rectangular-shaped frame, we cut the pipe into the necessary segments at an angle of 45 C. In this case, it is necessary to add from the width of the opening to the length of the segment of the lower part of the frame. We weld the components together so that a rectangle is obtained, one side of which extends beyond the boundaries of the figure;
- We measure the distance from the end of the protruding section to the top of the frame, cut this length from the pipe and weld to the fabricated frame;
- To the bottom of the frame we weld the beam under the roller mechanism;
- Using screws, we attach the profiled sheet to the frame;
- We roll the assembled canvas of the gate onto the rollers;
- At the top of the support column we fasten with a bracket a bracket that prevents the swing of the gate during the wind;
- To the roller guide from the side of the yard we fix the toothed guide onto the bolts;
- On the opposite side of the gate we install a catcher post, as well as an upper and lower bracket, similar to operations with a support column;
- Check the smoothness of the gate;
- Tighten the necessary bolts;
- We check the correct installation of all the constituent elements.
The retractable gate is ready. It remains to install and configure the automation in accordance with the instructions supplied with the device.
Chain-link gate
Of course, a country house with a wicket from a chain-link will look pretty funny. But in the country, such a structure will be absolutely in place, especially if the fence is also made of this material. In addition, low cost and ease of installation are ideal characteristics for a country fence.
