Also, the diameter of the cornice pipe is selected in accordance with its length:

- 19 mm - cornice 210-220 cm long.

Compliance with these parameters will help to avoid such a problem as sagging of the cornice pipe.
Types of cornices by installation method
Wall cornices, as the name implies, are installed directly on the wall above the window. This is the most common type of curtain rods in any interior. Please note, before choosing a curtain rod with this installation method, make sure the walls are strong. Plasterboard walls can not withstand heavy curtains, in this case you will come to the rescue of the ceiling cornices. Ceiling cornices are mounted at any distance from the window and can even be used for other purposes (just divide the room).

Please note that before buying any cornice, you must correctly calculate its length, measure the window width and add 30-50 cm to it. Thus, the distance from the edge of the cornice holder to the window will be 15 or 25 cm. On both sides, the length of the cornice is calculated without taking into account decorative tips.
Installation of ceiling cornices
Ceiling cornices for curtains are mounted quite simply. First you need to find the center of the window frame and from it mark the center of the cornice on the ceiling, the gap between the window and the cornice should be at least 8 cm. Next, measure the distance of the right and left sides from the center (halve the length of the cornice and this will be the desired distance) . Attach your ceiling eaves with dowels at the designated points.
Installation of wall cornices
If you install eaves for curtains wall, you will need to make some important measurements. Start by determining the height between the top edge of the window and the ceiling, this figure cannot be less than 5 cm, and the empty opening between the cornice and the wall not less than 10-15 cm. In the next step, a horizontal line is drawn using the spirit level, from which the points fastenings.
To mark the points for installation, first find the center of the window, measure half the length of the cornice from it and draw a short vertical line on the finished horizontal line, so the intersecting lines will be a point. The final stage is the installation of fasteners and cornice pipe.
