Wooden fence
Wooden fences have become the most common fence solution, they are very diverse and look good in any corner of the garden. Most often, a wooden fence for a front garden consists of vertical slats, but it can also be horizontal. Fences with wide horizontal planks are part of the rural landscape, as is the form of intersecting elements.
The materials that make up the wooden fence are very different, it can be birch, willow, bamboo or walnut. The pricing policy is also diverse, the price depends on the width, height of the fence, its processing (the shape of the rails is straight or has a shape, with an arrow at the top or a wavy fence line) and its material. Self-installation of a wooden fence is not particularly difficult, unless you plan a massive, high fence, a low wooden fence is easily mounted in the ground using sharpened long poles.
There is one important point when creating a wooden fence on your own, the wood structure has a certain drawback, it absorbs moisture very well, and therefore, a wooden fence is susceptible to decay and mold without proper processing. If you plan to paint your fence in two layers with specialized paint, then everything is simple, it will protect the wood perfectly, but if this option does not suit you, it is important to know the following.
The most famous methods of protection against moisture are lime whitewashing, wood treatment with linseed oil, primer or specialized impregnation. A more stable treatment option is impregnation with epoxy resin, but this action should be studied more carefully, since the resin is afraid of weathering and UV radiation, additional protection with nitro paint or oil-based paint will be required here. After processing the components of the wooden fence, you can start installing it. With regular inspection and proper maintenance, a wooden fence will serve you for many years.
Metal fence
A metal fence is a great choice for lovers of popular fencing designs. Forged metal can repeat certain patterns, and in combination with stone or brick, it will give the fence a very elegant look. Depending on the complexity of the patterns, combination with other materials, a metal fence can be quite expensive.
The most inexpensive type of metal fence is a netting net, it is not only affordable, but also easy to install. To maintain the perfect look and durability, you must take care to protect the metal from corrosion. Each metal has its own methods of processing it, for example, steel is coated with a primer, glossy paint or chrome plated.
Hedge
This method of fencing is the most original, on an ordinary metal mesh clematis, sweet peas, ivy or honeysuckle can be located. Also, boxwood shrubs, septembers, roses or perennial flowers can be a hedge.
Keep in mind that different plants have different heights and sprawls, climbing plants will require a high fence, but boxwood shrubs are easily pruned to the desired size (boxwood has one more advantage, you can learn about artistic pruning).
September shrubs can also be selected in height - from the lowest to the highest (150 cm.). Please note that a hedge may die due to improper selection of plants, as, for example, boxwood is a shade-loving plant, and the september loves the sun, consider this when choosing plants. For the best growth and appearance, the hedge should be regularly fertilized, watered and if necessary to poison harmful insects (caterpillars, aphids).
Artificial hedge
Decorative hedge made of plastic, fully imitates natural shrubs of boxwood or any other plant. Such a fence can bloom and be green all year round, it does not need to be watered and fertilized. Who created the artificial hedge? For allergy sufferers, it is for them that it is so important to reduce flowering plants, a person maybe loves roses, but he has an allergy from them, and here artificial shrubs come to the rescue.
Artificial hedges are easy to install, vary in their splendor, color, can be located on fences or mounted in the ground, they easily tolerate any weather conditions, are completely safe and non-flammable.
